Showtunes!

It's time for me to come out as a showtune lover. If February was my Black Diva History Month, March has shaped up to be my time to get re-aquainted with the Broads of Broadway. Here is my most played showtune playlist:

1. Seasons of Love, from "Rent"
2. All I Ask of You, from "The Phantom of the Opera"
3. Send In the Clowns, from "A Little Night of Music"
4. The Surrey With The Fringe On Top, from "Oklahoma!"
5. Lullaby of Broadway, from "42nd Street"
6. I Am What I Am, from "La Cage Aux Folles"
7. A Little Fall of Rain, from "Les Misérables"
8. Cabaret, from "Cabaret"
9. Everything's Coming Up Roses, from "Gypsy"
10. Do-Re-Me, from "The Sound of Music"
11. On This Night Of A Thousand Stars, from "Evita"
12. A New Life, from "Jekyll & Hyde"
13. One, from "A Chorus Line"
14. As If We Never Said Goodbye, from "Sunset Boulevard"
15. Impossible; It's Possible, from "Cinderella"

St. Louis Marathon Training: Shriver by the River

Week of March 6 to March 12 (Marathon 4 Weeks Ahead)
Goal: 35 miles
Actual: 10 miles (Saturday)

Week of March 13 to March 19 (Marathon 3 Weeks Ahead)
Goal: 40 miles
Actual: 25 miles (5 miles on Wednesday and 20 miles on Saturday)

Another nasty cold derailed my training program. I haven't been able to put up the mileage that I wanted, but I was able to complete a 20-mile run today. I was steady the first 15 miles, but Mile 15-19 were agonizing. With one mile to go, a girl passing me was a gift. My senses were awaken. I chased the bitch and ran the fastest mile this month to the finish line, Lloyd Hall.

It's tapering time!

I took a break from marathon training today to take part in an indoor soccer tournament. I played out-of-position for all four games so I wasn't much of use. The road trip to Lancaster for the tournament was a blast.
