Former Sen. Rick Santorum to write column for Philadelphia paper

PHILADELPHIA - Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, a Pennsylvania Republican known for his conservative positions, will begin writing a column for The Philadelphia Inquirer starting in early November.

Called the "The Elephant in the Room," the column will be featured in the Inquirer's opinion pages on alternating Thursdays.

Santorum, who lost to Democrat Bob Casey in last year's election, will write about a variety of topics ranging from America's culture wars to its struggles around the globe. Only occasionally will Santorum write about politics.

Not too surprisingly, Rick Santorum is crawling his way back into the public eye. I think it's a coup for the Inquirere to land such a prominent columnist. I disagree with Santorum 90 percent of the time, but I'm looking forward to reading his columns.

New York Times to Stop Charging for Parts of Its Web Site

First of all, I hate it when people refer to the New York Times as "The Times". Second, I hate the New York Times slogan "All the news that fits to print". Third, I hate the pretention that laced in every article and column. What a bunch of assholes!
With that said, I love reading the New York Times! I'm excited that I can have my weekly doses of Maureen and Frank for free!
