Glide

Hair's the story

Gliding is when you do nothing in the water, but you still move fast. It sounds simple, but it took me almost two years of regular freestyle swimming to finalize glide. I had to learn to relax until the water and let my body momentum push myself forward.
I finally got this concept two weeks ago. Gliding reduces my stroke count by at least 3 per length of the pool. I use less upper body strength, and increase my endurance. Now when the coach says 100 EZ, I happily put out.
