Basic Instinct 2

What if you get naked and no one cares?

That's what happened to Sharon Stone at the box office this weekend. According to my calculation*, "Basic Instinct 2" had an average audience of 23 people per show in the U.S. this weekend. That's less people that an average audience at a local strip club.

Poor Sharon! She tried hard the past several weeks to drum up interest for the movie. What we've learned is that her 48-year-old body can no longer sell tickets to straight men. I, on the other hand, can't wait to see the movie. I'm sure it will offer unexpected comedic momments I can talk about for weeks.

Total Gross = $3.1M
Total Screens = 1453
Average gross per screen = $2202
Average ticket price = $8
Attendance per screen = 275 people
Total numbers of showings in a weekend = 12
Number of people per showing = 23
